Manuel Lopez is a student at UC Berkeley and an alumni of Chicas Verdes at Manual Arts High School. Manuel began his journey in the garden with Chicas four years ago first as a general member and then became a membership officer, responsible for communications with members and meeting minutes.

In his free time, Manuel enjoys meditating in nature by taking long breaths in a calm, relaxing setting. As part of this process, Manuel likes to focus on admiring the growing trees and colorful flowers which help him to destress. 

From time to time, Manuel enjoys making fruit or vegetable smoothies. For Manuel, the process of creating a smoothie is really an exercise in creative improvisation. Generally, he takes whatever he has on hand at his house and gives himself the opportunity to create something new. Recently, his favorite smoothie has been watermelon.
