LATOYA HAWTHORNE

As a sustainable maker, creative strategist, and impactful leader, Latoya Hawthorne-Stiner harnesses her personal story as a survivor for the benefit of her community. After an education and professional career in marketing, business, product, and workforce development, Latoya refocused her talents on supporting underserved communities, empowering women, and environmental causes.

Looking to give back to the organizations she once relied on, Latoya co-developed and launched three successful businesses for a social enterprise serving women experiencing homelessness as well as building, launching, and managing e-commerce and social media platforms, while increasing revenue support for programs and services. With a strong background in training women in making artisanal products and consistently being unsatisfied with leading brand offerings for personal care, she put in years of research, including earning a degree in herbalism, to develop her own line of products.

Latoya currently sits on the board of Chicas Verdes, educating city youth about sustainable living, while working at The Well Refill in Topanga, CA to provide environmentally conscious and biologically beneficial goods and practices. She loves gardening in community and her favorite meal to prepare is a watermelon salad with fresh basil from her garden.
