GUADALUPE VELASQUEZ - PROGRAM DIRECTOR

 

Guadalupe was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles and is a 2016 Manual Arts Magnet alum.  She served as the Associated Student Body President during her senior year. 

Lupe received her Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health from the University of California, Merced in 2020. During college she was recognized with a Community Leader Award for creating food and resource drives for homeless residents of Merced and the Steering Leadership Award for leading the UCM Organization of the Year, Hermanos Unidos.

Lupe began volunteering with Chicas Verdes during weekly produce giveaways that began at the height of the pandemic and was hired as a Program Coordinator in 2021. She now serves as the Program Director for Chicas Verdes, leading after-school programming at Manual Arts. Her favorite part of Chicas Verdes are the relationships she develops with students, parents, and the South LA community.
